Transportation
Shreveport International Airport is a hub served by American Eagle, American Express, Atlantic Southeast, Continental Express, Delta, Northwest and US Airways. Budget, Hertz, and National car rental agencies all have airport locations. Amtrak has an unstaffed station in Isle of Capri Hotel in Bossier City; it provides a shuttle service to a rail depot in Marshall, Texas, a short 45-minute ride away. Numerous taxi and limousines services operate in the area.
In-Season Costs
Bossier City is one of those destinations where you can drop a bundle or take a bargain break. There is a range of hotel rooms from budget lodgings in the $40 to $50 range up to glamorous digs that will cost you upwards of $150 nightly. Dining is equally expansive; the casino tourists have stimulated restaurant growth so you’ll find restaurants ranging from sophisticated eateries offering international cuisine where dinner without wine costs around thirty per person to bargain beverages and inexpensive all-you-eats associated with the nearby casinos. Even if you’ve come to kick back and relax you’ll need to figure either gambling or sightseeing into the budget. Bossier City offers quite a few tempting historic home-guided tours and the offshore casinos are the primary reason for today’s tourism.
